Mixed media explores images that understand the world around us, through abstraction and representation. It allows us to explore building environmental messages in an installation fashion that pairs concepts, objects, and colors together in a way that evokes new reactions and thoughts. Giving the public a new way of understanding the horror and pollution around us, but also the beauty and growth of change and destruction, will change the way some think about our world and our lives.
Mixed mediums can explore internally, pulling apart the many layers of detritus and fog that clouds the inner self. Understanding and accepting chronic illness, trauma, rage, nostalgia, depression, they can portray it in a way that matches feelings, whether it be visceral or beautiful. These subjects can be shown through abstract dimensional projects that intrigue and disgust while still implementing strong color work and representative imagery.
Whether the subject be environmental conservation and destruction or an exploratory trek into my own mind, I will explore combining painting, drawing, metalsmithing, sculpting, and printmaking into large works that will make an impact.
Something to be remembered for.
